This wonderful fortified masseria, surrounded by countryside and sea, is part of a charming old village whose origins lost in the mists of time.
The masseria, nestled between the villages of Ostuni and Fasano, nearby the Adriatic Sea, the Itria Valley and Salento, is a world-unique location in which thousands of ancient olive trees and carobs still stand as guardians of the past like natural centuries-old sculptures.
The facility dates back to 12th century when Byzantines monks first settled this area. In the 15th century, it becomes a garrison of the Knights of Malta, until evolving in a fortified farm during the 18th century. The location features a rare and precious cave-church, recently restored with the approval of the Superintendence for the historical and artistic sites of Puglia, which has brought to light unknown beautiful frescoes dating back to 1200s.
History, ancient architectures and millennial cultures enrich the great heritage of this masseria, by making it a perfect place to relax and rest, bathed by the smell of citrus and other Mediterranean plants. The 14 large, luxurious and comfortable suites have bright coloured walls with the warm tones of the earth, the sun and fire, in contrast with the external matt-white.
Furthermore, the facility features an excellent indoor spa, perfectly integrated into the historical and natural context, in total harmony with water, nature sounds and music.
