For all those who love experiencing their own holidays in an active way, first-hand knowing the spirits of the places they visit and the people who live in, this is really a unique opportunity.
The Putignano Carnival is an inestimable historic, cultural and culinary heritage.
Their origins date back to the 26 December 1394, when the relics of the Protomartyr St. Stephen were translated from Monopoli to Putignano. Local citizens then held a joyful impromptu parade to hide the translation of the relics. From that day on, the Putignano Carnival parades yearly celebrate that event.
Putignano Carnival has been over centuries becoming richer and richer in traditions, customs and rituals, all expressing the folk essence of this happening, which has pagan, religious, satiric and Dionysian elements.
From now on, the Putignano Carnival is opening its doors to all who want to live an once-in-a-lifetime experience.
