In the morning, we will visit Alberobello and have traditional local products tasting in a trullo (Apulian small dry stone round house with a conical roof) and a wine tasting with a sommelier. In the afternoon, visit to Polignano a Mare, where we will have the chance to taste the famous homemade ice cream. Dinner at an exclusive Michelin restaurant. Overnight stay in the masseria.
In the morning, we will visit a bakery in Altamura for a bread tasting. After that, we will arrive in Matera, a UNESCO heritage site and the city of Sassi (cavities dug into the rock that have been used as houses for centuries, until 50 years ago). Free time for lunch. Return in masseria, dinner and overnight stay.
In the morning, we will visit one of the most important wineries in Puglia, near Brindisi. We will visit the vineyards and then have a light lunch with wine tasting in a wine shop. In the afternoon, visit to a centuries-old olive grove near Ostuni in a fantastic and important masseria. Olive oil tasting and dinner with local products. Afterward, we will visit Ostuni, the White City. Dinner in a Michelin restaurant in Ostuni. Return in the masseria.
In the morning, departure to Lecce by private transfer. Guided tour of the city. Visit to an historical palace in the city centre to follow, with tasting of Salento traditional products: “friselline” (local durum wheat salted biscuits) with extra-virgin olive oil, two local wines, “taralli” (local salty ring-shaped biscuits), local olives, “caciotta” (local fresh cheese), a selection of “pucce” (small buns with olives), and “rustici” of Lecce (little savoury flaky pies). In the afternoon accommodation in a “tenuta” (estate) near Otranto. Dinner and overnight stay.
In the morning, we will visit Otranto, also known as “The Gate to the East”, because it marks the easternmost point of Italy. Visit to the Castle and the Cathedral. Free lunch. In the afternoon, transfer to Santa Maria di Leuca along the panoramic route on the Salento coast, one of the most beautiful stretches of the Apulian coastline. Visit to Leuca, where the Ionian Sea meets the Adriatic. Return in the tenuta, dinner and overnight stay.
Free morning. In the afternoon visit to Gallipoli: to the modern part, situated on a promontory, called “Borgo”, and to the ancient part, called “Città”, which was built on an island across from “Borgo”, on a strip of land connected to the mainland since the sixteenth century. Visit to an old underground oil mill. Last dinner in a restaurant at Gallipoli. Return and overnight stay.
