Guided visit in Monopoli, The morning will continue to Polignano a Mare, known as “the pearl of the Adriatic sea” and walk among the narrow streets overlooking the cliffs. During the visit, tasting of the famous handmade ice-cream in one of the most popular bar in Polignano.
Departure with private transfer to Matera, UNESCO site, known as the “city of Sassi”, the old urban core where the old houses and churches are carved into the rocks. During the visit a stopover in a local bakery to discover the Matera bread-making technics (following a traditional old receipt), followed by bread, oil and others bakery products tasting.
Transfer to the hotel in Monopoli.
Departure to Castel del Monte and castle visit, UNESCO site and architectural jewel of Federico II the “Stupor Mundi”. Follow-on to Trani and visit of the magic cathedral by the sea, one of the most famous example of Apulian Romanesque Style. Return to the hotel in Monopoli.
Transfer from Monopoli to Lecce. Guided visit, famous for its fantastic old town rich in monuments in Baroque style characterized by the warm colors of the local stone and by lavish and scenographic architecture provided with proper characteristics and, for this reason, called “Barocco leccese”. Stop in a local bar to taste the famous “pasticciotto leccese”.
Accommodation in Lecce.
Day dedicated to Salento coastline, transfer to Santa Maria di Leuca, along the panoramic way nearby the coastline. Visit of Leuca where Ionio and Adriatic sea meet each other.
In the afternoon, guided visit of Gallipoli and its underground oil mill. Dinner in Gallipoli. Return to the hotel in Lecce and overnight stay.
Transfer to Otranto and guided visit. The tour will continue in a local farm, lunch with Salento typical products.
Return to Lecce, free afternoon.
Transfer to Ostuni called also the “White city” and guided visit of the town characterized by a typical Mediterranean architecture with its buildings covered with white lime.
In the afternoon there will be the visit of an old oil mill with tasting of EVO oil.
Transfer to Alberobello, the city of Trulli and UNESCO site. Guided visit of the old town discovering Monti and Aia Piccola local area, characterized by the famous trulli, peasant houses unique in the world.
The tour will continue in a local farm cheese. Visit of the stables and laboratory, mozzarella making with farmer and products tasting.
Return to the hotel in Ostuni.
Transfer to a local winery, visit of the vineyard followed by wine tasting and lunch prepared with local products.
Return to Ostuni.
Transfer to the airport. Flight back.
